As part of my New Baby Celebration, which runs from September 22-October 22 2012, I was given the opportunity to review and giveaway a rug from RugsUSA. Here are my thoughts:
I selected the Cradle Cars & Trucks Green Rug to review. I chose it because it’s design is unisex and the colors are geared toward neither a girl nor a boy (and I have both). When my baby boy is old enough to sleep through the night consistently, he will be moved into his sister’s bedroom. They are only two years apart and I know they will have a lot of fun together. My sister and I shared a bedroom until we were teenagers and I’ll have to say those are some of my favorite memories.
The rug was delivered to my house rolled up in a plastic tube. I took it to my daughter’s room (with some difficulty because it was heavier than I expected), where we had already cleared out a space for it and unrolled it on the floor. By this point, curiosity had gotten the better of her and she’d run into her bedroom to see what was going on. When she took a good look at the rug, she smiled and pointed, shouting, “Momma, look at dat!” (Her new catchphrase!). From a material standpoint, the rug was made of a nice, thick wool that was both stiff and soft simultaneously. The colors were bright and vibrant, which is a great quality to look for in a child’s rug.
